Our previous fundraiser was a success, Zach was able to bring down cash, supplies, and support to help out Cuban artists and musicians. Sekou was able to create a new mural!

As always, we are still helping out. In January we plan to go back. Me, my dad, and my son Zach will go to Havana in January to attend the annual jazz festival in Cuba. But as usual, we are not going without supplies and money to support our dearest friends. I am writing this new fundraiser because something tragic has happened to Sekou.

Sekou needs a new home. As of last week, floods in Havana have destroyed his house. It is not safe to live in. Zach was already talking with Sekou about getting a new home last month when he saw the state of the place he was living in already. Now the situation is dire, and we need your help to change this.
Currently he is living in an airbnb Zach got him for the next week. It was out of pocket, but a necessity. After November 25th, he will be able to live with friends and family, but this is not sustainable for more than a few months.
Below are photos of the state of his house after the floods occurred. Sekou has given permission to share these photos. This is a similar reality for many people in Cuba.
To be able to buy a good apartment in Havana, Sekou needs around 10,000USD. We hope to raise this amount by January 14th, when we travel to Cuba. This will be the biggest fundraiser we have ever done for a friend in Cuba. Please consider sharing or donating. This might be the most important fundraiser to date.
