We are excited out to share an exciting and profoundly important initiative we are undertaking at Herrera Dance Project, our upcoming dance production titled "Echoes of Justice: Unanswered for 77. The Time Between." This powerful 77 minute choreographic exploration seeks to address the haunting 77 minutes at Robb Elementary School where teachers and students waited for law enforcement response during a critical moment of need.
We are honored to announce that we have been awarded a $12,000 Arts Activate Grant from The City of Dallas, which will support our mission to bring this poignant story to life this Summer of 2025. However, we need your help to ensure the success of this production. Our goal is to raise additional funds to pay our talented dancers, cover production expenses, and create impactful set pieces that resonate with the gravity of our message.
"Echoes of Justice" aims to create a space for conversation, reflection, and change. Through the medium of dance, we intend to delve into the emotions and experiences of those who endured the agonizing wait—students, teachers, and families—highlighting their resilience and strength. This production is more than just an artistic expression; it is a call to action, a plea for accountability, and a vision for a future where such moments of uncertainty and fear are transformed into understanding and unity.
Your support will not only help us financially but will also contribute to a larger movement within our community. We believe that art has the power to inspire change, foster dialogue, and cultivate a deeper understanding of the issues that affect us all. By creating this work, we hope to ignite conversations that lead to tangible change—change that can ripple throughout our community and beyond.
We invite you to be a part of this important journey. Your generous contribution will help us bring "Echoes of Justice" to life, ensuring that the voices of those impacted by the events we are addressing are heard and honored. Thank you for considering supporting Herrera Dance Project and our mission to create meaningful art that reflects the realities of our society. Together, we can make a difference and foster a culture of understanding and compassion. With heartfelt gratitude,
