Meet Rocky — our sweet 10-year-old Taiwanese street dog (Formosa Mountain Dog). If you’ve spent any time at Short Sand Beach, you might recognize him hanging out on the sand while we surf. We adopted Rocky as a tiny puppy while living in Taiwan, and he’s been our loyal adventure buddy ever since.
A month and a half ago, Rocky suddenly began limping and lost the ability to use his front left leg. We’ve visited multiple vets, had X-rays taken, and tried different medications — but nothing has helped. His pain has only gotten worse, and it breaks our hearts to see him unable to walk, play, or enjoy the beach he loves so much.
So far, his vet bills have already added up to $2,000. On Monday, Rocky has an appointment with a neurologist, where he’ll likely need a CT scan to get answers. We suspect something may be wrong in his spine or neck, and we’re desperate to figure out how to help him heal.
We know times are hard for everyone right now, but if you’re able to contribute toward Rocky’s rising medical costs, it would mean the world to us. Any amount helps — truly. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page is just as valuable.
Rocky is the most loving dog — he adores people, the beach, chasing sticks, and collecting rocks (his favorite treasures). We just want to give him the chance to keep doing the things that make him happiest.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Rocky. ❤️
