The 2nd Annual Meggs Cup

TPC Piper Glen vs. Pine Lake Country Club

This event is a 2-day gross match play tournament against the best players at both clubs. Piper Glen and Pine Lake both had a very close connection to the Meggs family. Daniel and Doug Meggs were two of the fiercest competitors you could ever be around, so this event was created to honor their memory.
Last year’s event was held at TPC Piper Glen with Pine Lake squeaking out a narrow one-point victory. This year Piper Glen heads to Pine Lake where they will try to reclaim the coveted Meggs Cup.
For this years event there are two competitions: the event on the golf course and a fundraising challenge to see which team can raise the most money for the Meggs Foundation. The Meggs Foundation is a 501c non-profit organization that provides financial support for young adults facing life threatening illnesses.
For the event there are two main competitions taking place. First, the event on the golf course. This consists of 16 players on each side in a better ball match play format over 2 days. Second, we are challenging each team to raise money for The Meggs Foundation. We ask that you donate money to the team you think will win the 2nd Annual Meggs Cup, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to people in need. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated. We will be sending out updates via social media before, during and after the event. Also, we will provide the Golf Genius code so you can follow along.
We have a star-studded list of players this year consisting of PGA/European Tour members, , former President Cup participants, College All-Americans, and Korn Ferry Tour players. Also, We also have some future stars of the game and some other halfway decent players that were lucky enough to make the teams.
