Our dear friend Shoshana and her 12 year old daughter have tragically lost their beloved husband and father Erik Elstad after a year+ battle with cancer. Heartbreakingly, Erik just completed a grueling course of radiation on Friday April 11 when unbeknownst to the family he had an aggressive tumor on his brain stem that caused a brain hemorrhage followed by a massive stroke on the following Monday. Erik never woke from the stroke.
Erik was the breadwinner for this family, and hasn't been able to work consistently in over a year while battling this terrible disease. Shoshana has been his full-time caregiver, as well as for their daughter.
This family has been struggling to make ends meet during Erik's valiant battle. They are now frankly left, trying to figure out a new way forward, in dire need of financial assistance, not only for Erik's funeral and burial expenses, but for day-to-day living. Shoshana desperately wants to stay in their home, and minimize changes on her daughter during this unimaginably difficult time.
We, as a tight-knit community, have the incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact in their lives.
