Magnum Needs Surgery
Our sweet boy Magnum has to have surgery to remove a rapidly growing tumor from one of his hind feet. Because of the tumor's position, (up against his bone), it's possible he may lose the leg completely if he doesn't get this surgery ASAP! The tumor is growing so fast that the skin has already become taught and nearly split! Approximately 4-6 weeks ago there was barely a raise on his skin. (I've included a cell phone pic of the tumor; be warned: it's not for the squeamish!)
We cannot afford this surgery. We just paid rent for November and are left with a total of $94 in our checking account to run on until next week when we'll be broke again! We don't have any savings. Life from week to week! This is our normal! So we couldn't afford to help Magnum even on a good week! But it does come at a time just before the holidays, when I'm trying to figure out how to stretch our already-tight budget for those extra groceries we all tend to need this time of year. We don't even know how we'll put Christmas gifts under the tree for our 2 girls. Not that they lack for anything! Surely, they do not! They are clothed, fed and have plenty of toys and entertainment! Please understand, this is not a plea for Christmas funds. I'm simply stating the constant emptiness of our wallets.
I've set the surgery for 8 a.m. on 11/15/2024 even though I don't have the funds. I'm trusting God to make a way for him! Anything that is given, even if we don't reach our goal, will help tremendously! I have to let the vets know if we intend to keep the appointment by Nov. 12, 2024. If I have to, I might could push the surgery out until the following week, but that would be the latest we could do it. It MUST be done before the rush of the holidays!
I'll also include a pic of the printed out estimate that was given to me by the doctors. The lower number is if they don't do labs on the tumor, so the higher figure includes labs. I'd like to know if Magnum will be suseptible to more tumors in the future; labs are the only way to have some sort of answer to that.
And for those who feel the need to always make suggestions, please know that I've already looked into pet insurance and veterinary credit cards; we don't have the credit. I've already inquired with the clinic if I could please make payments if I give a down payment. All funds are required up front. I respect that; they have reasons why they have to operate this way. I don't know what else to do!
When considering making this GO Fund Me for him, I worried that his situation may not be a worthy-enough cause. I mean, it is to us, but according to the rest of the world, he may not be! I know every family out there has their own financial hardships, so I almost feel selfish creating it. However, this money will not go towards me; it's for our fur baby, our protector, our children's playmate and babysitter, our friend when we have no one else to listen to us, our family member! Surely doing this for him is the least selfish thing I can do!
In the meqntime, everyone please say a prayer of healing for our Magnum and for God to provide what we need in time for this surgery! 🙏🐶🩺🥼
