Hi I am a single mom with sole custody of my 2 year old. His dad has never been in his life and I don’t receive any type of child support. I’m also in college full-time (online) in order to be at home for my son. I’ve been going back and forth to court to try to see my options but they are no help. He has 6 kids and already owes 500,000 in child support. So it’s pretty much pointless. I am struggling for sure. I receive my school loans every 3 months and try to pay my rent 3 months early but with the other bills it leaves me kind of stuck so I have been door-dashing with my 2 year old being with me. Any kind of help will help. The system fails us in order to receive any help from the government you have to be poor. But if I were to be working I would spend no time with my son and still wouldn’t be able to afford to live. They really should be helping people who are trying to help themselves so they don’t need welfare but they don’t they just keep handing it out to the ones who sit on it. It’s a shame. Once my son is old enough for school I should have my degree and a great job! but right now it has really been a struggle. If you are able to help I would extremely appreciate it.
