I'm asking for your help so that I can find a way to reclaim my heart, my soul, my self-worth and my identity.
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
If you know me, you know that writing this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I have always prided myself on being independent, highly educated, and capable of figuring things out on my own. I hate asking for help. I put myself through college , earned my degree and started a successful career. I was always the strong one that everyone leaned on. But today, I am putting my pride aside because my life and my safety depend on it.
For the past 20 years, I have been trapped in an abusive marriage. My husband has subjected me to verbal, emotional, and at times, physical abuse. He has degraded and tortured me to the point where I look in the mirror and barely recognize the person staring back. He has systematically stripped away everything I ever thought I was, to the point that I am now losing myself completely, and if I can't get out soon I am not sure what will be left of me. He has left me with no job, no car, no extended family and under his complete control.
I have tried to leave twice before. Both times, I failed because I simply had nowhere to go and no resources to survive.
I am determined to make this time different, but I cannot do it alone.
The Plan for Freedom
I am not asking for a handout to start a completely new life from scratch—I just need the missing puzzle piece to kickstart my own rescue.
The Immediate Goal: I am raising funds strictly to purchase a reliable, reasonable used car.
The Next Step: Having a car means independence. It means I can attend interviews, secure a job, and go back to work to earn my own living again.
The Exit Strategy: I am incredibly fortunate to have a couple of wonderful, trusted friends who have promised to help me physically get out and establish a safe place to live the moment I have the means to get to work.
How You Can Help
Your donation, no matter how small, goes directly toward buying a vehicle that represents my ticket to freedom. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this link.
A Note on Safety: Because I am still currently under his roof and strict surveillance, I have to keep certain details private for my own protection. But please know that every dollar represents a step away from fear and a step toward reclaiming the person I used to be.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for caring, and for helping me drive toward a safe, free future. I no longer want to be the victim. I'm ready to rewrite my own story.
