I got Weavie by going all the way out to Newark, NJ, as a fellow animal advocate told me there was a young cat there at risk of being put on the street. I didn’t know much of the story, just that it was urgent, so I went and got her.
I planned on finding her a new home, but once I had her realized that she had vision problems, and as a result she had major outbursts of anger (swiping and biting). I decided to help rehabilitate her, and at the same time noticed she had strange black rashes on her skin.
I have taken her to two different vets, gotten her spayed and fully vetted, but no one has been able to help with the rashes, and she is very itchy. I feel bad that she is uncomfortable (along with having vision problems!) I love her very much and want to take her to a specialist in Long Island (the cost is over $500)
I thought I would reach out to fellow rescuers to see if anyone wants to support my personal rescue work and Weavie. Weavie is very loved and taken care of, but we could use some support to help her see the specialist she needs to get these strange, itchy rashes taken care of. I’m hoping it’s not an indicator of a deeper health concern, as she is only about 2 years old.
