Bambi was diagnosed with pulmonic stenosis on the right side of her heart in November. Over the past couple of months she has become exercise intolerant and spends her days laying in bed. After her last visit with her cardiologist it was clear the medication she is on (atenolo) is only slowing the progression of her disease and in order for her to have a long and healty life the cardiologist sugessted a balloon valvuloplasty procedure.
A balloon valvuloplasty is a minimally invasive procedure involving the passage of catheters and wires in the heart, including one with a ballon. Inflation of the balloon can cause separation of the valve leaflets and help alleviate this obsturction. This should help to reduce the pressures in her right heart and reduce the risk of her developing further clinical signs of heart failure in the future.
Alot of people would say why in the world would you spend this much money on a dog. What they don't understand is how much Bambi has been here for me and how much I owe her this. She has been my rock since the moment I adopted her. We have been through so much together. Through these years she has protected me and kept me safe. When I lived by myself a man attacted me and Bambi fought him off of me. If it wasn't for her I possibly would have lost my life that night. I don't know what it will be like to not have here with me, it's hard to think about.
I'm very thankful you took the time to read this and I appreciate any donation. Thank you!
