My Story
I’m a young active-duty military member stationed away from home, and I’m facing a financial challenge I can’t handle alone. A few months ago, I was involved in a car accident that left me with over $15,750 in damages while I’m still making payments on the loan.
Unfortunately, my insurance won’t cover the repair. Even though I have proof that I tried to add comprehensive coverage, the update never saved in their system. My bank never required proof of insurance or provided temporary coverage while I secured my own, so my GAP insurance won’t step in either. Because of this, I’m solely responsible for both the repair costs and the $25,000 remaining loan.
Being away from family and support makes this even harder. I’m doing everything I can to stay focused on my duties and stay afloat financially, but this situation is overwhelming. Any donation, big or small would mean so much and help me get back on the road, reduce the stress, and keep serving without this heavy burden hanging over me.
