My name is Cat. I live in the US (Oregon) I am raising funds for Ahed who is 17 years old. He cares for his mother and six younger siblings. Ahed's father was detained by the occupation a year plus several months ago and his family has no idea what happened to him, still.
The cost of goods in Gaza is more expensive than anywhere in the world due to the siege. Ahed struggles every day to keep his family fed and sheltered, they often go hungry or become ill from drinking contaminated water. For 8 weeks now there has been no food, water or any other basic necessities whatsoever allowed to enter. Flour has run out and any food that can be found is astronomically expensive.
When I say that Gaza is uninhabitable, I mean that in a literal sense. Humans and animals are starving to death and dying of dehydration. Diseases are spreading and the destruction is rampant. Every day our friends in Gaza face death. Mental health is non-existent in these circumstances.
