Hello everyone,
We are reaching out with excitement and hope in our hearts. Our son, Devon Goosen, has been given an incredible opportunity. He has been selected to join a Junior Hockey team! This is a dream come true for him, the result of years of hard work, dedication, and countless early mornings at the rink.
Junior hockey is a highly competitive level of play for athletes aged 16–20 who aspire to reach collegiate, semi-professional, or professional leagues. It's a crucial stepping stone for players chasing their dreams of playing at the highest levels, and being chosen is a huge honor and a major milestone in Devon's hockey journey. College scouts attend many Junior level games.
As proud parents, we've watched him pour his heart into this sport. We've watched him get knocked down, get back up, and work twice as hard for his hockey dream. Hockey has taught him so much more than how to skate and shoot; it's taught him resilience, leadership, teamwork, and the importance of never giving up on your dreams.
However, as many of you know, hockey, especially at the junior level, comes with significant costs. Between travel, equipment, team fees, and specialized training, the expenses quickly add up. We want to make sure that finances don't stand in the way of Devon pursuing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
We are humbly asking for your support to help us make his dream a reality. The tuition will include for Devon to travel in a charter bus with his team whenever they have games; will include partial hockey equipment needed for the team; food; hotels; travel; skate maintenance, off ice training, and more. The total tuition is over $13,500.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to chasing his goals and representing all those who have believed in him.
If you're unable to donate, we completely understand. Your support through sharing this page and keeping Devon in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world to us.
Thank you for being a part of his journey. We truly believe that with a community behind him, there's nothing he can't achieve.
With love,
Goosen Family
From Devon: Thank you all for all the help. I will give it my all! I won't stop trying until I have reached success.
