Since Thanksgiving, Michael’s life has completely changed.
What started as ongoing health issues turned into multiple hospital visits, with little answers and no real improvement. Without medical insurance, getting consistent care has been difficult. His condition continued to worsen until he was eventually admitted to the ICU, where his family was told the outlook was not good. Everything changed when a new doctor stepped in and took his case seriously.
After thorough testing, Michael has now been diagnosed with histoplasmosis and blastomycosis—serious fungal infections that can become life-threatening if not treated properly. These infections are often linked to environmental exposure, and given his years of hands-on work in construction, it’s likely how he was exposed.
Since Thanksgiving, he has gone from 140 lbs to just 95 lbs. Right now, doctors are focused on treating these infections before they can run additional tests to rule out other possible conditions like cancer or tumors. He has a long road ahead.
They are doing everything they can—but they can’t do this alone. Funds raised will go toward:
- Medical bills and treatment
- Medications
- Basic living expenses during recovery
- Transportation to and from care
Any support—whether it’s a donation, prayers or simply sharing this—means more than we can put into words. Thank you for helping this family get through an incredibly difficult time.
