Dear friends and family:
My name is William Kostka and I am the eldest son of Narciso and Sandra Kostka. I was born and raised in Pohnpei, with my two brothers Mark and Tom Kostka. My father and mother were a school principal and teachers in Wone and Seinwar, Kitti, and Awak, U, in their early years. I am a father of 4 beautiful children – William Jr., Lukas, Stan, and Isabella. I have been blessed to be married to my supportive and loving wife, Judy Ladore Kostka – today, December 12, 2022, is our 35th Anniversary.
Throughout my life, I have devoted (just as my parents did) to care for others. My parents’ teachings of good values (serving others) have been the foundation of my family, my career, and me as a person. Although I have not served in public office, I have been serving as a true public servant all my life.
There are numerous accomplishments I have achieved but among others I am proud of the work I have done for our youth and our most vulnerable communities. Our children are our future and I have made it a central focus through the Micronesia Conservation Trust (MCT) to secure over $1M dollars and to allow the money to grow for the purpose of scholarships. Today, MCT has put about 20 Micronesian students through school on full ride scholarships abroad. Education is critical to our wellbeing and our society.
As co-founder of MCT, we celebrated 20 years of its existence in November this year. I have helped it grow with the seed money of $50,000 into what it is today – today MCT averages over $3M in annual budgets every year and has grown an endowment of over $30M. MCT is now a world recognized and trusted organization with its goals to protect and conserve our natural environment and provide sustainable development for Micronesia. I had a vision and a mission over 20 years ago to make home better. Reflecting, MCT has been a reliable source of hope and progress not only to the people but to our national development efforts.
Just as my vision and mission with MCT, I have the same yearning to do so much for Pohnpei and our communities as an elected Congressman. Working hard and committing to serve truly is not an obstacle for me – I actually enjoy it. Like many here I live paycheck to paycheck and I do not have the money to fund my own campaign. I do not own a private business that would help lessen the financial challenges of campaigning for the next couple of months.
As a believer in me to make a better place for our people, I am humbly asking you to please invest either financially or with other means. Your donation will without a doubt help me succeed in the election. Every cent holds so much value to me, and me and my family thank you so deeply for investing in my campaign. I would love to thank you personally for your donation if you can email me at williamnkostka@gmail.com.
