I'm from Orange County, Texas, and my friends and family are currently dealing with this unspeakable disaster. Over 40 people have lost their lives, millions are homeless, and many are still unaccounted for. Please join me in supporting the United Way of Orange County, Texas' Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Every dollar counts towards rebuilding the homes and businesses lost in this tragedy.
Orange, TX is located 100 miles east of Houston on the Texas Louisiana border. Orange and north of Orange received 45 inches of rain from Hurricane Harvey. This has created historic flooding of all bayous and the Sabine River. This has created the same situation as in Houston. Massive flooding of homes and businesses that have not flooded before. Toledo Bend Dam, 100 miles north of Orange, on the Sabine River has opened more flood gates that will bring more water down the Sabine and into Orange in about 10 days. This could make the situation worse. The concern is that Orange is a small town and will not get the attention the Houston area will receive.
