El dia 31 de Enero, vivimos una pesadilla, mientras mi madre se ahogaba sin poder respirar recorrimos la ciudad de Guadalajara tocando puertas en hospitales tanto públicos como privados, no había cupo para un paciente más Covid.
Mientras mi madre se le escapaba la vida, mi hermana y yo desesperadas llamamos a un número 1800 urgencias Covid. Nos decía la operadora, si ya habíamos ido a todos los lugares posibles por lo que confirmamos. Nos mencionó sobre el hospital Siloe, llamé y me dijeron que si tenían lugar para mi madre, pero nos pedían $3,000.00 de garantía para aceptarla, como pudimos mis hermanos y yo los juntamos en ese momento.
La internamos el 31 y hasta hoy mi madre sigue ahí, aunque hemos ya pagado $14,000,00 mil dólares que ninguno de mis hermanos y yo teníamos, hemos pedido prestado y hemos vendido lo que pudimos, la cuenta sigue creciendo, mi madre sigue viva y haciendo progreso a paso lento, la cuenta al dia de hoy va en $15,000.00 mil dilares más, el hospital nos pide saldar la cuenta o sacar a mi madre de ahí, solo que no tenemos mucha opción, ya que no hay a ningún otro lugar para llevarla.

On January 31st, my mother fell ill with the coronavirus and had diffuculty breathing without aide. We were in the city of Guadalajara and all of the hospital beds were occupied and the hospitals at capacity. Still my mother continued to lose her ability to breathe. That is when we called a local 1-800 number and were able to get her a room in a private hospital named Hospital Siloe in the city. They accepted her with a down paymeny of $3000.
She was admitted that night but the bill as of now has reached $14,000 and is still climbing. The hospital is requesting we pay off the balance or else they will need to discharge her prematurely and she is only now slowly recovering. She still needs to be on the ventilator and discharging her is not on option. We have set up this fund to try and raise any bit of money we can to try and keep my mother in the hospital so she can keep receiving the care she so desparately needs.
