Hello, I am Terry Aurand. I am currently a father of 2 sons and a machine shop worker. I also served in the US Army as a 19 Kilo (M1A1 Tank Crewman). I also create youtube content as a hobby and I am known as the Mighty Bjorn on youtube.
.As many of you know there is currently a war happening in Ukraine and they need help. I am in the process of going over to Ukraine and volunteering for the Ukrainian Foreign Legion. As a US Army veteran, I have a lot of training and knowledge that would help with the Ukrainians efforts in defense of Ukraine. That's were I need you help.
After speaking with the Ukrainian Embassy located in D.C., it was recommended that I supply as much as my own equipment as I can. The amount of equipment they can promise to supply me with is very limited. I will need funds to acquire Uniforms, camping gear, survival gear, etc. I will also need a passport, which I am currently in the process of acquiring. I will also need to buy myself a plane ticket from the US to Poland, then travel to Ukraine. That's where I need your help.
Uniforms, sleeping gear, compass, plane ticket, passport, etc all cost money, and the amount of equipment and funds I need to get said equipment has really stacked up. Also as said above I have a family to support, and while I have some savings, it is not enough. Volunteering to go to Ukraine and help with the war efforts is an expensive endeavor. To lessen the burden on my family I am asking for help and donations to help me get the equipment I need and to help cover the travel cost. The more gear I can supply myself the better off I will be. So, please help me achieve my goal and help increase a Army veteran and family man return home.
Here is a short list of gear to give you a rough idea of the type of equipment I need to a acquire. Sleeping mat, carry rig, helmet, uniforms, mess kit, 550 cord, signal mirrior, camel back, bookt, rain gear, water purification tablets, AFAK, and boots. Most of this equipment will be military surplus due to price, avaibility, qualitiy, and training. As stated above I will also need to cover the cost of a plane ticket and passport. Here is a list of equipment I need or have.

The Alternative plan incase I don't go to Ukraine because Russia withdraws, I'm not accepted for service, etc. All funds raised will be given to The Red Cross for humantarian aid to Ukraine.
