Hello everyone.
For those of you who do not know, sweet Savannah was brutally attacked in North Carolina on June 14 and is now suffering from severe injuries. Amongst other things, the attack has left her with a fractured vertebra and severely damaged throat, and she’s been struggling to breathe.
Savannah underwent a successful 5-hour surgery on Monday and had to be intubated. There was some slight progress physically after the surgery and she was able to speak a little, but she’s had a few setbacks. As of now, she has fluid in her lungs and so doctors will be keeping her on a ventilator for at least a week; they have yet to rule out paralysis.
Mom and Dad, Ricky and Amanda, are with her now and are heartsick over what happened. Thankfully, they know who attacked her and he’s now in jail. With expected legal, medical and travel expenses, the family will need support, both emotionally and financially. We are all hoping and praying for a strong recovery, but Savannah is in bad shape and will need months, if not a lifetime of medical care.
