Recently, I was involved in a terrifying hit-and-run accident. While driving with my daughter, another vehicle struck the passenger side of my car, causing me to lose control and crash into a concrete barrier. The driver never stopped. My vehicle, which was my only form of transportation, was severely damaged.
When I contacted my insurance, I was told that if I filed a claim, they would total the vehicle and only offer me around $750—barely half of what the car was worth and nowhere near enough to replace it. That amount won’t even begin to cover a safe, reliable vehicle for my family.
Right now, I’m in an incredibly difficult situation. I’m raising not only my own daughter but also my three young nephews (ages 5, 7, and 11) who I took in after their parents, who struggle with addiction, could no longer care for them. I’m doing everything I can to give these kids a stable, loving home.
I work two full-time jobs and I’m also a full-time student. I’m trying to build a better future for all of us, but I can’t do this alone anymore. Between school, work, and managing the many doctor’s appointments for all the kids, not having a dependable car is making everything feel impossible.
I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help, but I am desperate. If you can spare even $2, it would mean the world to me. Every little bit adds up, and your kindness could help me get a safe vehicle to transport my children to school, doctors, and everything in between.
I’ve been praying every day and trusting God to guide me through this. If you're reading this, thank you for your time and compassion. Please share if you can. And from the bottom of my heart—thank you.
