Hello Everyone. As many of you that read this already know my story and who I am. I will tell everyone that doesn't. My name is Theresa Lopez and in 2004 I got extremely ill. I noticed a rash on my legs and my body would hurt like crazy. This was a pain I had never felt before. There were times that I wasn't able to get out of bed, but I did anyway not just for me but for my baby girl Jazzy. I would go to the emergency room and they would run test and tell me they don't know what is causing all my issues. I started to lose a lot of weight, but at that time I thought it was good since what women wouldn't want to lose weight. 
I took a trip to New York to see my family. I went out with my then boyfriend ( my daughters father) family. We went to City Island, I noticed that I was very tired and my legs were hurting so bad it was hard for me to walk. When I got back home to North Carolina I went straight to the hospital, I wasn't able to move my legs at all. They kept me and took every test they could and still couldn't find out what was wrong with me. My mom had to brush my hair, bath me and even dress me. I went to rehab for over 3 weeks to walk again and do everyday things a lot take for granted. 
One day a doctor enter my room and introduced himself, Hello my name is Dr Hill and i was given your medical file. I would like to run a full ANA Panel on you. I think you have and illness called LUPUS. I had only heard of this disease once before and that person passed away. I informed him the emergency room has already tested for Lupus twice before and it came back negative. He informed me that the test he was doing was more detailed. He came back to my room a few days later and informed me I have Lupus SLE. I thought my life was over, I just couldn't understand why me.  My type of Lupus attacks my major organs. The attack of my kidney occurred 5 years later. 
I have been on dialysis for over 10 years now. I am on one Kidney Transplant list at CMC Medical and am trying to get on another one at Wakeforest Medical. Transplants are extremely expensive from the hospital stay to the procedure and also the medication that I will need to take for the rest of my life. The medications can be from $250 to $350 a month for the rest of my life. This is very expensive and your help can save me and my new kidney. 
It is very hard for me to ask for help but I need everyone's help. Anything that you can give would be great in helping me try to get back some of a life I thought I would never have. Please share this and help me reach my goal, I know it's a lot but it no where near the total amount of the entire transplant and it would help my quality of life tremendously. Thank you so much.
