I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging moments of my life. For months, I had been battling unexplained exhaustion and persistent headaches. I assumed it was stress or just life catching up with me, but things took a frightening turn when my symptoms suddenly worsened. I ended up in the hospital feeling scared, overwhelmed, and uninsured.
After several tests, doctors discovered the cause: severe anemia. I had no idea my body had been running on empty. While I’m grateful that we finally found answers, the timing could not have been worse.
I was in the middle of transitioning between jobs. My previous insurance had ended, and my new employer’s coverage had not started yet because of a waiting period. I tried to get temporary gap insurance, but it was not enough, and the hospital costs have grown into an overwhelming amount that I cannot manage alone.
