ABOUT ME
My name is Sofia Terrazas, and I am your Miss Texas Earth 2023. I am 25 years old, and currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Marketing at the University of Texas at El Paso. I will be graduating this December, and have plans to continue my education by pursuing a master’s degree in Sustainable Fashion and Brand Management at the Milano Fashion Institute, a university in Milan, Italy. Apart from my academic responsibilities, I also work as a talent agent and modeling instructor at Bazaar Models, an agency in El Paso, Texas.
If there is one thing that has stayed consistent throughout my life it has to be my passion for both fashion and the environment. My environmental journey took root during my formative years, specifically in the third grade when I was just eight years old. It was in my very first ecology class that I was introduced to the wonders of the natural world. I vividly remember the excitement of learning about ecosystems, plants, and animals, and how they all interrelated to create the delicate balance of our environment. That class ignited a spark within me that has continued to burn brightly throughout my life. It was there that I realized the profound importance of nature and our responsibility to protect it. Since that early age, I've carried the lessons and inspiration from that class with me, propelling me into a lifelong journey as an advocate for environmental conservation and sustainability. For this reason, I truly believe in the importance of instilling environmental values at a young age. By starting young, we not only equip our children with the knowledge and values needed to address pressing environmental challenges but also ensure a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come.
My dedication to this cause has led me to establish a meaningful partnership with a local environmental organization, where I will have the privilege of collaborating with like-minded individuals and working towards creating a greener, more sustainable future. Over the next couple of months, I will be working on various environmental initiatives, from organizing clean-up events to advocating for sustainable practices in my community. ABOUT BEAUTIES FOR A CAUSE USA
The charitable organization of "B4ACUSA" provides opportunities for advocacy, education, and recognition for women and girls who want to positively impact our planet. Our mission is to support environmental preservation while empowering female activists. Major mission projects are carried out in a variety of locations surrounding the United States and beyond, while also enabling program Ambassadors to conduct individualized projects in their communities. B4ACUSA includes three distinct initiatives: Grants/Scholarships, "Still She Rose" Wellness Program, and We Clean Trails. B4ACUSA is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization registered in Virginia, USA.
CAMPAIGN INCENTIVES
Miss Earth USA and the B4ACUSA Foundation offer various incentives as I campaign for fundraising.
Make a gift to help me get closer to the following goals:
● $50 - Volunteer clean up kit sponsored by Garbo Grabber > goal to have by World Clean Up Weekend September 16
● $150 - Entered into monthly drawing for sponsored gifts
● $350 - Minimum goal for delegates to raise by December 15
● $650 - Invitation to summer environmental mission trip, including overnight accommodations
● $850 - Consideration for scholarship up to $1,500 awarded + delegate charity gala ticket included (value $120) and entry to the optional runway competition with additional prize consideration!
● Highest fundraiser in each division who has not been selected to the Top 20 by judges will automatically earn a spot in the final Top 20 regardless of overall scoring. If the top fundraiser has already been selected by the judges, the position goes to the next highest fundraiser.
