Baby Ayla will turn one year old this December, inshaAllah — a milestone that should be filled with joy, warmth, and tiny footsteps. Instead, her first year has been a fight to survive.
Winter has arrived in Gaza. The nights are freezing, the ground is wet, and Ayla has no warm clothes. The smoke from the burning-paper stove inside their tent has given her a painful lung infection. She needs urgent medicine and a proper gas stove to keep the smoke away.
Her mother, Aya, is still severely underweight and recovering from childbirth with no medical care. She struggles every day to find enough food and water for herself and her daughter.
And yet, despite everything, Baby Ayla is full of life. She laughs loudly, plays with her uncle Nazmi, and makes sure the whole camp knows when she arrives. She is bright, curious, and deserves a chance to grow up healthy and safe.
