I could start off listing all the issues, but I really don’t want to do that to ya. It’s a lot to tell & certainly is too much for some. The point is I had a new-to-me vehicle (a Honda Odyssey that I & countless others worked very hard to acquire) for almost a month. AND NOW I DON’T.
I let someone borrow it to go get food for themselves & it was totaled as they pulled out in front of a speeding, licenseless driver with a history of high-speed accidents.
Since we live in a shared-liability state & the Odyssey had liability-only I haven’t seen the van since I cleaned out my kids’ toys, work equipment & CDs from the disc changer while her damages were still warm.
I lost my main income as a result (can’t sell wood without a way to get there) & have had to forego countless opportunities since.
It happened the week before Easter & I have yet to receive support (or a vehicle or any real options) from the driver of my new van that night. I really thought he was a friend. Even vouched for him, since it technically was a work van (let’s not talk about the trust lost with my former employer).
But needless to say, I can’t make the difference up, get back on my feet errr behind wheels (buy another vehicle) on my own. I’m a single mom hitching rides, biking, scooting, riding the bus, ubering & taking the train (all of which are respectable but exhausting & HOT).
I really need a vehicle.
I’m asking the universe to help me replace the Odyssey ($4500 value) & some lost wages (too much to count but at least $3k).
I would love to be able to pay my bills & travel with my kiddos this summer to swim, see loved ones, tell jokes, hear music & build a life I am proud of.
We would be forever grateful of your financial support in this adventure’s endeavor.
