I'm Jean, living in Farmington, New Mexico. As a divorced senior battling Multiple Sclerosis and having survived breast cancer, I rely solely on my disability income. My loyal companion, Brutis, a 5-year-old poodle-Chihuahua mix, has been my rock through life’s toughest moments, especially after my divorce. Unfortunately, Brutis now faces his own struggle. He needs CCL surgery for a luxating patella—his kneecap is permanently dislocated and he’s struggling just at level 3 out of 4. The estimated cost is $3,500, an amount I simply cannot afford on my own.
Brutis has always been my comfort and joy, offering unconditional love when I needed it most. I’m heartbroken to see him in pain, unable to play or walk without distress. He still has so much life ahead, and with this surgery, he could once again enjoy his days freely. I want to be there for Brutis as he has been there for me, but I need help to make this happen.
