Hey everyone.
This is Katie. Due to serious health complications with both myself and now my father, Josh and I have to make the move back to New Jersey.
Moving back to NJ is something Josh and I have wanted and have been excited to do for years. Unfortunately, these are not the circumstances that I wanted it to happen under. Finding out that my father is sick has taken a huge toll on me and my family emotionally. I need to be back with my family, but the costs of this move are exorbitant.
You may remember our past fundraiser where I was hospitalized for over a month while Josh's job cut his hours significantly. Unfortunately, his job never reinstated his full-time hours, and we've been struggling to make ends meet ever since October 2025. Additionally, I'm still struggling significantly with my health, attending an average of 8 doctor's appointments per week just to access of the basics of what I need to survive.
The money that we received from that fundraiser gave us so much help during that extremely trying and traumatic time. We will never take that for granted. We regret that we have to ask again, but unfortunately it is a necessity.
We have been struggling and scrambling to get approved for an apartment, find new jobs, get new insurance since I'm disabled, try to transfer my disability claim to NJ, and estimate the costs of this move for a while now. We finally got an idea of how much this will cost and, to be blunt, we cannot afford it.
We are asking for your gracious help and support during this extremely difficult time for Josh, my family, and I.
We understand that times are very tough and this is not the first fundraiser we have made, but life is hitting us hard and we have finally reached a point where we are drowning. It is not easy to ask for help and be vulnerable, so I kindly ask for your grace and understanding that this is truly our last option.
We appreciate any dollar you're able to donate while we navigate this challenging time.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
With all the love in the world,
Katie, Josh, our families, Lucy, and Linus.
