Willow will be 10 tomorrow (September 8th), so for 9 years and 7 months, she has fought. She was 3 months old, right at Christmas, when she started seizing (convulsions). These seizures never stopped in under 10 mins with her longest being 43 minutes. Many trips to specialists, talks of surgery, different methods of care- we might have found a break-through. In a few weeks time, we are taking her to Rochester for specialty testing to see if she is a candidate for surgery. It's been 6 years since she had a convulsion seizure, but now she suffers from silent seizures that they have found to occur primarily at night once her body hits a comatose state. They impair her memory, her brain function, vision and even sometimes ability to balance and hearing. It's time to help her. As she says "I want to be normal".
I don't like asking for help, most times I refuse. But we've rescheduled this trip numerous times due to financial resources. This time, momma is fighting to make it happen while not sacrificing other necessities for the rest of the family.
Why $2,000? Because it wouldn't let me put less. We have a minimum of 3 trips to make. The end of this month, November and likely January. Being a hospital, these appointments have to occur during the week which puts loss of work hours, mileage and hotel stays. I'm not sure In the end what it will all cost is. Everything helps at this point.
