Help Bring Balbino Home
As many of you know, our loved friend, father, and valued member of the community, Balbino Mayora, has been apprehended by ICE wrongfully, and is currently being held in an immigration detention facility. While Balbino has been in this country legally for over 20 years, as we all know, the current immigration climate makes no distinction between legal status or the contributions an individual has made to their community.
Balbino has committed no crime—now or ever—in the past 20 years. His name is free and clear of any illegal activity. This situation is purely related to his immigration status, and not because of any wrongdoing. Now, he faces a lengthy legal battle to prove his right to remain in this country—a process that is not only mentally and emotionally draining but also expensive. As an immigrant, he does not qualify for a public defender and is required to secure and pay for his own legal representation. This is where he needs us, his friends, family, and community, to step in and help.
We have already found a lawyer to assist in his case, but legal fees, court costs, and other expenses are adding up quickly. That’s why we’re reaching out to you—anything you can contribute, whether it's one dollar or simply sharing this message, will make a difference in getting Balbino back home where he belongs.
I know how much many of you love and care for Balbino, and I wish you could hear how much he loves and cares for all of you. Over the past 20 years, he has become a staple of this community, raising his children Josh and Lotus here, surrounded by friends and people who have come to rely on him and become family. As you all know, he is a loyal, loving, and devoted individual and he’s been a huge presence in all of our lives.
Balbino is not just a mechanic—he’s a man with a true passion for helping others. He always goes above and beyond for anyone who needs it, even when it means making sacrifices of his own. Whether it’s fixing a car or offering a listening ear, Balbino is there, no questions asked. This is our time to show up for him.
His shop, Balbino’s Garage, has been a staple in this community for over 15 years, and it will continue to operate with the support of his loyal crew. I’ll be working in the mornings and evenings, alongside one of Balbino’s closest friends and a brilliant mechanic whom he personally trusts to care for every vehicle. I’m in constant communication with him, and he’s still very much involved in the shop, guiding us on each step with his signature touch. So, while he’s not physically here, his presence and expertise will remain.
Another way you can support Balbino right now is by continuing to bring your cars to Balbino’s Garage. Keeping the shop active and thriving means that when he returns, his business—the one he poured his heart and soul into—will be waiting for him, strong and supported by the community that loves him. Your loyalty and trust, whether you're a long-time customer or new to the shop, will help ensure that his life’s work continues uninterrupted.
This is not easy for any of us to talk about—Balbino is a private person who would never want to be in a position where others feel obligated to help him. But right now, he needs us. His family needs us. We are asking from our hearts for the community to come together to support him in his time of need.
Please, if you can, donate whatever you’re able to. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with others will make a huge difference or continue to be a loyal customer. Every little bit counts.
Please donate, spread the word, and support in any way you can.
📞 For now, you can reach me (Davina Maes) directly at 602-909-0578.
❤️ Thank you so much for your love, support, generosity and standing with Balbino. Let’s bring him home.
