Dear friends and family,
My brother, Hughie Joe Sheppard, was taken from us far too soon at just 37 years old after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday night. Hughie lived a life that many may not have understood, facing serious health problems throughout his life and spending his later years homeless and unsheltered. To some, he might have been easy to overlook, but to those of us who truly knew him, Hughie had one of the kindest, most selfless souls imaginable. Even in his most challenging times, he always thought of others first.
As his oldest sister and next of kin, I now bear the heavy responsibility of laying my brother to rest. This is something no family is ever prepared for, both emotionally and financially. I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this, but I cannot do this alone. The funds raised will go directly toward final expenses, ensuring Hughie receives the dignity he deserves.
