Our family is asking for prayers, support and help for my cousin Larinda Thompson, who has been fighting a long and difficult health battle since 2018. Her journey has been anything but easy, and now she is facing the biggest challenge in her life.
In, 2018 she was diahnosed with a rare auto immune disease called pseudohypoaldosteronism. This condition weakens her immune system, causes dangerously low blood pressure, and puts constant strain on her body. On top of that, she is a heart patient with a bicuspid valve, SVT and severe tachycardia. Her heart rate has spike as high as 200 bpm, forcing doctors to place a monitor in her chest to track and protect her heart.
Recently, her doctors also discovered malignant cancer cells on her lung, with concern that it may be affecting other areas as well. She now needs surgery to remove the cancer, along with ongoing testing and treatment. This has required her to travel out of town up to three days a week for appointments, biopsies, scans and consultations--often with no income coming in due to her health issues. She will have to quit working completely until this is resolved.
Despite everything she carries, she is a dedicated mother of four daughters who rely on her love, strength, and presence every single day. The emotional, physically, and financial weight on her shoulders is overwhelming, and the unexpected costs of travel, medical bills, and lost income have put her in an incredibly difficult position.
Our goal is to help lift some of that burden so she can focus on healing, being there for her daughters, and getting the lifesaving treatment she needs. Any amount helps--prayers, shares and donations all make the difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting her during this terrifying and uncertain time.
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."--Psalm 46:1
