1 am a disabled mom raising two special needs children, and right now my family is in a place where we truly need help. I live with complete nerve damage on the right side of my body, CPTSD, RSD and AuDHD. It took four back surgeries in two years to place my spinal cord stimulator, and even with that, my life is 24-hour pain. Over the last 10 years, I have had more than 10 surgeries, and my most recent surgery in May left me with a $2,000 medical bill.
1am currently on SSDI after being a CDA for 26yrs. I had to quit my part-time job because my 7-year-old was having issues at school as well as medical issues. Between round-the-clock illness, doctor appointments, and caring for my children, every day has become more than a struggle.
Transportation has become one of our largest challenges now that my car is broken beyond repair.. Uber is expensive and does not work with car seats. In addition my youngest needs to attend a special school that costs $12,000 a year. I am currently in Chapter 13 bankruptcy and fighting to keep the house I worked so hard to buy as a single mom working three jobs. Our savings have been depleted, and we are also facing major home repairs. We need a new roof, and the front of our house is falling apart, with those repairs expected to cost over $20,000.
I am used to being the one who helps other people, and asking for help like this is not easy for me. But I am in a tight spot and doing everything I can to hold my family together. Donations will help with urgent transportation needs, my child's special school costs, and the critical repairs our home needs.
