Anyone who knows me well, knows that I have always had a heart for caring about those who are less fortunate and/or suffering through not faults of their own. I have long dreamed of being in a position to be able to help orphans and other hurting children in Africa (as well as other places in the two-thirds world). Starting in high school (Maine UM Youth Council) through college and throughout my 8 years serving on the United Methodist Church's General Board of Global Ministries (Mission Board), I developed a deep desire to be a helper of others in everything I do.  Again, if you know me, you realize I have done the best I can with what resources I had at my disposal. My passion to support orphans in Uganda, Ghana, Cameroon, and other places was born through my connection to Watoto Children's Choirs (I coordinated hosting three visits/concerts at my home church and other faith communities in Maine).

Over the past 10 years, I have participated in the resettlement and job seeking efforts of New-Mainers from Africa (refugees and asylum seekers) and have listened to many heart-breaking stories about conditions and the plights of people in Burundi, Rwanda, Congo (DRC), Kenya and other places. That is some of my experience.
I was recently presented with a miraculous opportunity that will allow me to establish a foundation to finally do some of the work that I really want to do for the orphans and other children in Africa. If I can raise at least $10,000 on my own over the next month or so, an anonymous donor will make one million dollars available to me to establish a Maine Foundation for African Children.

I am not only looking for donors, but also investors. No amount is too large or too small. If you or anyone you know is able and willing to help me with donations or loans that will help me reach my goal of $10,000, please give here or contact me directly to discuss what might be possible. If you know me, you know I am very serious about this and will not disappoint. Thank you in advance for your consideration of support (or sharing) this exciting campaign.
