My Nephew, Gabriel (Gabe) Antonio Rodriguez sadly passed away on September 19, 2024 in New York City.

Gabe had just turned 40 on September 11th.

An accomplished Film Maker, Writer and Director with such credits as; The Sisters Kardos, Fighting Nirvana, Havana in Bushwick, Q to the 6 Train, Susie in the Afterlife and countless other screenplays, films, shorts, poems, etc. Gabe's passion was filmmaking as that is all he lived for.

Gabe's parents; Lourdes Gil and Ariel Rodriguez are deceased as is his  beloved aunt Cassandra. Gabe had no siblings, no "immediate" family and is survived by several Cousins on both sides.

This has been shocking and I am doing my best to provide for Gabe a proper final service as would have been both the wish of his parents and aunt.

Once again a heartfelt thank you. I wish you health & peace.

When Gabe would visit Miami, I would ask what he wanted to do; "Tia let's go to the Beach"!

Nephew, sadly on your final visit to Miami, I bring you to the Beach.

Thank you, many blessings.

It is the final scene, last take & Director Gabe Rodriguez has announced; "That's a Wrap".

Rest in peace my Nephew, see you at the "After Party".

Hello,

I am writing this Thursday September 26th at 12:00 Noon EST.

With sincere gratitude I thank you all.

Each comment expressed for my Nephew Gabe is read, appreciated and provides me with strength needed to continue this on his most deserving behalf.

I plan to respond to each and every one of you, please give me a few days to come up for air.

Humbly I give you an update, Gabe's body will be cremated today and his ashes will be shipped to me here in Miami.

On another note, there has been an outpouring of several sharing with me their thoughts of suicide, please please reach out as there are several options.

I found American Foundation for Suicide Prevention;

Blessings and I will continue updates. God Bless

I appreciate all of you and thank you. This is a most difficult time, we are still shocked and in disbelief.

Via a Funeral Home here in Miami, they assisted with their affiliate in New York, paperwork has been signed and I have claimed responsibility financially and as only next of kin for the release of Gabe's body from the NYC Medical Examiners Office to the Funeral Home.

Gabe will be cremated on Thursday September 26th and his Ashes flown to me here in Miami.

Tomorrow evening at 7:00PM the family will have a Mass at:

Mother of Christ catholic Church

14141 SW 26th Street Miami, Florida 33175
