Hi Everyone!
As many of you may not know I recently went back to school for Nursing. I am in an accelerated 16 month program and with the class load working part time. I have decided to take andvantage of my winter break and go on a volunteer trip at the end of my Fall semester (December) 2021.
I will being going to the Old San Juan area of Puerta Rico for 1 week with an organization called LoveVolunteers to help fulfill needs in the community. I will be working with local organizations to help improve the community by means of:
-Assisting in food distribution like serving meals and packing grocery boxes
-Sorting donations of food, clothing or household goods
-Assisting local homeless shelters
-Working with local groups to clean and beautify communical spaces
This isn't something I am required to do, or that I am doing through school, this is something that has been on my heart to do and I am super excited to have found an organization still serving throughout the pandemic. I set up this GoFundMe in hopes to raise enough money to cover the cost of paying the organization to go on this trip, travel insurance that is required, my flight fee that is not included with organization fees, as well as local transportation and meals that are not provided by the organization.
I will be there from Sunday to sunday, and volunteers work Monday-Friday 8am- about 3pm in the community to their assigned work site. I will be staying at a hostel in dormatory style rooms with other volunteers. Breakfast is served at the hostel.
I have paid my registration fees and will have more information as it is given. If you have any more questions please shoot me a text or a message. Or you can check out LoveVolunteers website. Seriously anything helps, thanks everyone:)
