On 10/28/25, I took Mia in to our regular vet because she hadn't been eating over the weekend. She was running a high fever and they kept her for the day with some IV fluids to bring it down. After running some tests over the next couple of days, they found inflammation in her liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. By 10/30, I was taking her from the regular vet to the ER vet where she's stayed in their ICU since. Her fever was very high at almost 106*, and while it had been going down during the day on fluids, in would spike right back up when she would come home - between that and the inflammation and not knowing the cause of her infection, the best choice was to have her on 24/7 care at the ER vet. While most of her tests have been inconclusive, they've determined she has pancreatitis and may have some kind of infection or disease in her liver - the origin of which is still unknown. As you can imagine...the costs for all of this care have been piling up. I've never created a GoFundMe, but I'm asking for whatever help anyone is able to give to help cover Mia’s ongoing care and recovery. Between the diagnostics, hospitalization, and constant monitoring, her medical bills have quickly added up to several thousand dollars - and she still isn’t out of the woods yet. As everyone knows, Mia means the world to me; we've been doing life together since I was 19, and she's stayed spry and active even at 13! This has been a very sudden and scary illness, and I want to do everything I can to give her the best chance to heal and come home.

Every little bit helps- whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply keeping her in your thoughts. Thank you so much for reading, caring, and helping me fight for Mia’s recovery.
