My work has always been rooted in community empowerment, education, and social justice. Through advocacy, research, teaching, and organizing, I have dedicated myself to supporting communities that are too often overlooked by the institutions meant to serve them.
As an undergraduate, I studied Women and Gender Studies, Africana and Asian American Studies, which deepened my understanding of inequality, liberation movements, and community-led change. These experiences shaped my commitment to building stronger organizations and creating systems that better serve working-class communities, communities of color, immigrants, and historically marginalized groups.
To continue that work, I have been accepted into Columbia University’s Master’s program in Nonprofit Management. This opportunity will allow me to develop the leadership, financial management, fundraising, and organizational skills needed to create lasting impact and strengthen the institutions that support our communities.
As a first-generation college graduate from a low-income family in the Bronx, I understand both the power of educational opportunity and the barriers that often stand in the way of it. While I am proud to have already secured approximately $11,000 in scholarships and support, I am still working to close the remaining gap toward the roughly $100,000 cost of attendance.
