A lot of you know that I’m chronically ill, it’s a neurological disorder that causes severe and chronic migraines. These are accompanied with nausea, balance issues, light and sound sensitivity, nervous system “jolts” and “misfires” which cause me to drop or launch things I’m holding.
I finally got approved for the med I needed to survive, to get up and know what it’s like to feel capable and strong. The medication is the difference between me being able to work and pay my own way and becoming so sick that I can’t get out of bed. Last week, my health insurance lapsed two weeks early and I am now facing paying for my incredibly expensive specialty med out of pocket. I am between jobs at the moment, but working as much as I can at a part time job I found to help.
I am due for my injection on the 27th and there is no way to get any sort of coverage in place, fight for authorization of the med with the insurance company, and finally getting it ordered and filled at the pharmacy in time. I also have rent due soon(as most of us do) and it is just slightly less than my rent. So, though I will have a solution in a few weeks, I will be too sick to even go to my part time job and interviews by then.
So, it is with a humble heart and shredded pride that I asking for whatever you can give. Every penny helps lessen the financial impact.
