Hi!
My name is Merlyn Torres, I am a 21 year old student at my local community college in Albuquerque, New Mexico and currently in my second year of a nursing major. Due to my love and passion for medicine I also work full time in the pediatric ICU of our only level 1 trauma hospital University of New Mexico Hospital.
As a committed contestant of the Miss Earth USA class of 2023 my goal is to raise money for their charitable giving challenge “Beauties for a Cause”. This organization not only teaches us but empowers us to take care of our earth through our titles and platforms, alongside community service, community clean up days, recycling, and many other ways.
Miss Earth USA holds a strong focus on sisterhood and community involvement through hard work. As your official Miss New Mexico Earth I am excited to get to work in the hopes of cleaning up our earth starting right here in my beautiful city of Albuquerque and expanding everywhere else that gives me the opportunity, while also educating our youth to do the same.
It would mean the world to me to show this great organization just how strong my state stands behind me by helping me reach my fundraising goal!

The charitable organization of "B4ACUSA" provides opportunities for advocacy, education and recognition for women and girls who want to positively impact our planet. Our mission is to support environmental preservation while empowering female activists. Major mission projects are carried out in a variety of locations surrounding the United States and beyond, while also enabling program Ambassadors to conduct individualized projects in their communities. B4ACUSA includes three distinct initiatives: Grants/Scholarships, "Still She Rose" Wellness Program, and We Clean Trails.
