10/21/25 Thank you everyone for your donations which has made it possible for Ryder to receive treatment at the Apex Brain Center in Asheville, NC.
Ryder is now in his second week of treatment at Apex Brain Center. We are extremely happy with the care he is receiving here. Dr. Trayford and Dr. Zaremba are amazing. They have designed an individualized treatment plan for Ryder based on his specific needs. He is already showing improvement in many areas after just one week of treatment. We are so excited to see what the next two weeks have in store for him.
On November 3rd, 2023 two year old, Ryder, was in a near fatal drowning accident. He was airlifted to Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital where he spent 4 ½ weeks in the pediatric intensive care unit, then transferred to the neuro unit where he spent another 10 weeks. Ryder was then flown by air ambulance to the Kennedy Kreiger Pediatric Rehab Institute in Baltimore Maryland for intensive therapy. After three months of daily physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapy, Ryder returned home.
With many prayers and much love, Ryder is progressing and is working very, very hard in therapy to re-learn to walk, eat, use his arms, hands and to communicate. Ryder's father, Justin, who is now a single parent, and his family are continually seeking new and innovative treatment options to help him in any and every way possible in his recovery. One of these options is the Apex Brain Center in Ashville North Carolina under the care of Dr Michael Trayford, an expert in traumatic brain injuries, with documented life-changing outcomes for his patients. The treatment there would require a fifteen day stay with daily outpatient treatments. Ryder's father Justin would accompany him to NC and stay by his side throughout the treatments.
Justin is currently only able to work two to three days a week since he takes Ryder to therapy three days a week and provides the 24-hour care that three-year-old Ryder requires. Needless to say, the cost of the treatment at Apex plus the cost of travel and housing is beyond his means at this time.
With faith in God, financial assistance, and continued prayers and we can all help with Ryder’s Recovery.
Galatians 6:10 ~ "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
With deep appreciation,
Ryder and family
