Please support our campaign to raise $10,000 to build the Joe Lee Bolden Jr. Memorial Bike Bunker. Joe tragically and unexpectedly passed away on April 18, 2025. Joe served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1979 to 1983. He was an active member of The American Legion Post 17 in Talladega, AL including being the Post Commander from 2017 to 2023. As the Post Commander, Joe's outstanding leadership and managerial skills were critical in the growth and success of Post 17. Joe was an avid motorcyclist and under his leadership, the Post 17 American Legion Riders were established. Joe was a Charter Member of the Post 17 Riders and was passionate about their mission. American Legion Riders at Post 17 play a critical role in carrying out the mission of the American Legion. As our most forward facing members, our riders support our veteran community through honoring our heroes by providing funeral escorts, standing flag lines, participating in veteran related events, parades and services, conducting and participating in a wide range of fundraising events in support of our local community and national campaigns. We encourage everyone to check out our website at: https://www.americanlegionpost17.com/
as well as our Facebook page at:https://www.facebook.com/share/18F1YoAp1a/
The Joe Lee Bolder Jr. Bike Bunker will provide a needed safe, covered parking area for our Post 17 Riders (There is no covered parking in our gravel parking lot) as well as a recreational outdoor space for our members and patrons to meet and socialize and honor and remember a man that was so critically important to Post 17, its members, friends and community.
We thank you in advance for your generous support!
