Twice in One Week: Help the Bowens Rebuild After Two Devastating Crashes
In the span of just 48 hours, the Bowen family’s sense of safety was shattered—not once, but twice.
The Week No Family Should Endure On Tuesday, January 13th, a drunk driver tore through their property, destroying their safety bollards and totaling a vehicle belonging to Bo’s uncle. Before the family could even process the shock, the unthinkable happened again.
On Thursday, January 15th—just moments after the family finished celebrating Bo’s birthday—a car plummeted through their living room wall. The vehicle didn't stop until it reached the dining room, leaving a trail of destruction through the heart of their home.
What Was Lost While we thank God that Bo, Kristie, and their family are physically unhurt, the damage is catastrophic. The crash didn't just break walls; it pulverized the life they built inside them:
-
The grandbaby’s toy box and play area.
-
Irreplaceable sentimental figures and family heirlooms.
-
Essential furniture, cabinets, and the foundation of their home.
A Pillar of the Community Needs Our Prop Bo and Kristie Bowen are the first people to step up when someone else is in need. Even in their time of intense trauma, shock and grief their first act was to recognize and thank the officers who were at the scene. The LPSO office proudly posted Bo’s statement, “I just want to praise Deputy Carrier for going above and beyond the call of duty last night when he took time to pray with my wife and me for us, our house, and our family (which means more than you know), especially given the intensity of the situation.”
Whether it’s through their local business, volunteering at schools, or their other active roles in the community, the Bowens have spent decades pouring love into our community. Now, it’s our turn to pour it back.
This is the second time a car has struck their home since 2007. They have rebuilt once before with their own hands, but the financial and emotional weight of this "double-disaster" week is too much for anyone to carry alone.
How You Can Help Your donations will go directly toward:
-
Home Repairs: Rebuilding the walls, dining room, and kitchen.
-
Replacing Essentials: Buying new furniture and replacing the items lost in the debris.
-
Restoring Safety: Replacing the car totaled in the first wreck for Bo’s uncle.
