Our dad, John Fernandez, bravely received a Stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis in October 2025. Since then, this devastating disease has spread to his brain and other areas of his body, greatly affecting his ability to communicate and manage many of the everyday tasks most of us take for granted.
Despite the challenges he faces, Dad’s love for his family remains unwavering. He is a devoted husband of 45 years, a proud father of five children, grandfather to eight grandchildren, and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandson.
For those who know him, Dad’s life has always been filled with music. Whether playing the drums at family gatherings or years ago in the halls of Stroman High School, his rhythm brought joy, laughter, and lasting memories to everyone around him. Those moments have become even more precious as we navigate this difficult journey together.
As his family, our focus is on making him as comfortable as possible and ensuring he receives the care he needs. The financial burden of cancer treatment, ongoing medical expenses, travel costs, and lost wages continues to grow. We are humbly asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time.
