It’s as American as baseball - literally - a young boy and his field of dreams in the making. Alex is a member of the Apple Valley U12 AA baseball team. A team tradition is to accept an invitation to the Youth Cooperstown baseball tournament each Summer. This annual tournament guarantees the boys 6 games against other U12 AA teams from around the nation; all converging in Cooperstown, NY in late July.

The game plan is simple: raise money to attend. Alex has been working hard over the past year to raise the funds needed to cover expenses: tournament uniforms, umpire fees, boys lodging, tournament fees, etc. As you imagine, an event of this caliber comes with a hefty price tag.

It’s bottom of the ninth and while some runs have been scored [funds raised], we are still down. We’re in need of a few strong pitch hitters [donations] to help make up the difference. Can you help? Are you able to help with any amount of donation towards the costs of this event? Thank you for your consideration in helping Alex.

A little back story? The fundraising over that past 12 months has been frequent. You may have purchased from some of these sales: Frozen Pizzas, Poinsettia & Christmas wreaths, Summer Flower sales. You may have attended one or more of the “eat for a cause” at several area restaurants through last fall & winter. Some have seen Alex selling concessions at baseball tournaments. Thank you again for your support.

Fate likes to throws a curveball - Alex broke his right wrist Mother’s Day weekend. Six weeks in a cast for his strong right arm. Time to pivot - practices and early season games gave Alex the opportunity to be head bat-boy and team morale officer.

Spring fundraising came from volunteering as helpers at 3 area elementary school carnivals. The bases are nearly loaded - the date to head to New York is on deck. Playing baseball where it all began - Cooperstown, NY - the stuff that dream are made of.
