This is a fund for Jimmy Kitchens. If you don't know who Jimmy is, he is out around whatcom county stopping crime around the clock. He does what the police and stores can't do, which is stopping the endless amounts of theft currently going on through our city.
Jimmy is a professional chainsaw sculptor and was robbed by some thieves who stole $10,000 worth of his tools. The least we could all do is help Jimmy recoup his money after having to repurchase all of his sculpting tools.
Here is his story
I am a professional chainsaw sculptor, starting back in 2002. I am from Alaska, the land of the free born and raised, a small town on the kenai peninsula. I always loved the wild lifestyle of Alaska but the artist in Alaska didn't fit well. I decided that better resources were available in Bellingham WA and I also wanted to join the comicon life and started carving super heroes. Life is good, creating something from nothing. I had a shop full of tools and a number of specialty tools that are not very common. One early morning a car pulled up and popped my locks off my shop door stealing every tool owned along with some carvings, roughly 10k in Tools. I was crippled with no tools. I could no longer create art and provide for my family. I was so upset and mad at the world. I had to take out a loan to buy more tools and get back to my lifestyle of chainsaw carving. I was at Home Depot one day, walking through the tool isles of course. I notice a male with cart full of tools. I said to my self "He looks out of place ,something ain't right". Sure enough he headed for the door. I stoped him outside and said to him "this is not happening ". He said my wife has my receipt". I said nope and I took the cart. He ran for his car where a female and child were waiting for him. On that day I said no more. My eyes were wide open and could see what was happening to our community. Slowly crippling and tearing us apart. I haven't stopped since. I was furious at what I was seeing.
