This October, we are welcoming a new member to our joyful  household!!! On October 22, weather permitting, Francesca is due to give birth to one genuine baby girl!! This date is pretty much etched in stone, as our obstetricion has an important golf date the next day.  As neither of us has been a parent before, we have spent the past 6 months reading and researching (mostly Josh) , using the bathroom (mostly Francesca) and preparing for this event (both)....

As we have expanded our horizons and vocabularies (didn't know about Maple Syrup Urine Syndrome until we embarked on this adventure), a few things have worked their way to the top of our list of wants and needs.  The baby industry is no exception in its ability to add sticker value to basic items and plastic to landfills.  As a starting family in 2021, we'd like to minimize that as much as possible.  In an effort to stay lean and green, and to avoid overspending on the part of our friends and family, we are forgoing a traditional registry and asking instead for hand-me-downs from households that have already welcomed children, and now may welcome a little de-cluttering!  We have received many items thus far (thank you!) yet still have some to acquire.  If you have items to send to us, please reach out and we'll coordinate getting them.

In addition, there are a few things we can't get second hand.  Childcare, because that would be complicated, and diapers because, well, ew.  We will soon be needing to return to the workforce in whatever post-baby capacity we can, and ensuring that our little one is cared for is of the utmost importance to us. Who knows, we may even want to start performing again (we can dream, at least)! We are fundraising for a nest egg so that these things are possible.  Any contribution is appreciated, a few hours of a sitter and/or part-time day care would go a long way to help!

Oh yeah, and 8/9/2021, we got married!!
