We are currently trying to raise money in order to get our dog, Bella Bleu, surgery. She has begun having fluid build up in her chest which is pressing on her lungs and causing her to be short of breath. We’ve been told that she more than likely has always had this condition, but something has changed and now she is having trouble breathing about every three days after having fluid drained and the only solution is to have surgery. We got Bella from the shelter last Christmas after seeing her story on Facebook and she is only 2 years old. She was originally adopted by another family who brought her back to the shelter where she then fell into depression and became aggressive towards other animals. When the shelter called her previous family to tell them the news and that she may have to be put down, they said “okay” and left her there until we found her. Now, Bella enjoys car rides, chasing balls, her window seat, and going to the beach with her family. If we cannot get her surgery she will have to be put down. Please make donations here or you can donate to the Animal Clinic of Columbus on Hwy 45 using Bella’s name, or make donations directly to us. If you would like proof that your money is going toward a good cause, we are also able to provide copies of her medical bills.
UPDATE**** 12/10/23
Bella had her surgery in November, and for the last few weeks since then she has been doing amazing until a couple days ago. We noticed that she was breathing a little funny, so we took her to the vet but since her normal doctor was out of town she had to see someone else who didn’t know as much about her situation or how to run tests. We were told to give her the medication she was taking after surgery, and to come back on Monday when her doctor gets back in town. Tonight, she is breathing very heavily and struggling more but she will be going to her doctor tomorrow to figure out what is happening now. Hopefully, it is nothing serious but keep her in your prayers and we will continue to update everyone on her story!
