Warm regards to you all who read this, my hardship appeal for your help. My name is Seth Johnson. I’m a 67-year-old lifetime certified school teacher for over 40 years. I no longer have the prospect for a retirement pension due to a near death experience from a terminal illness that still exists. It surely has been by the grace of God that I am still alive and teaching in some capacity. Due to my co-morbidities, I had to level down to Teacher Assistant in order to extend my years per my doctor’s request. That leveling down brought with it a $40K drop in pay. It’s been quite difficult to keep things going. I have to work since I have no retirement availability, which brings me to my needful appeal. I NEED A CAR since my car of 19 years has ceased to function. The engine cracked due to overheating a couple of years ago and a few weeks ago threw a rod. I have no funds to replace the engine and very experienced mechanics told me it would be best to get another car. I’m not asking for anything brand new. Just a car to get me to work; to various medical appointments; and to the grocery store. Currently, I have to walk to and from the grocery stores and pharmacy. I’ve been working as a Teacher Assistant for the past 6 years in the FLS special education unit at my school. Of all the students that I’ve ever taught over the past decades, special education students are my absolute favorite to teach. I so enjoy showing them that they can do so much more than they think. Like this year, I was permitted to enroll them again in an international math competition in which they finished, after 10 weeks, 4th overall internationally and 1st in our state. Notwithstanding, this was not a SpEd math contest. They are one of the main reasons why I joyfully get out of bed each school day. And I know that they know that I love them very much and that I absolutely enjoy teaching them each and every day. I need a car so that I can get to work (30 miles roundtrip and no public transportation in my city) in order to continue teaching these beautiful children AND so that I can continue sharing with them knowledge, love and grace. PLEASE help me to get back on the road by the time I'm required to report back to these precious children on August 4, 2025. If you can't help financially, then please pray for me.
