My husband and I dog Zoey has Hip Dysplasia, or so we thought. I'd say about 2 years ago Zoey jumped up on our bed and she cried in pain. The next day we took her to the vet, they told us it was hip dysplasia and gave her carprofen so she wasn't in so much pain. Well fast forward to the present, and she has slowly gotten worse over the time. So we took her back into the vet, she recomended another vet cause she wasn't sure what to do. She has done all that she could do. Zoey is 7 years old and weights 73lbs which is a healthy weight for a mix black labrador. She can't go up the stairs at our apartment anymore. We live on the 2nd floor, and she cries in pain when she does. My husband has to carry her up now. She can't get on our couch, bed, my sons bed, ect. This new vet really took care of her, did blood work, MRI, X-Ray, the whole nine yards. We now found out that it's not hip dysplasia, that she has completely ripped her left knee ligament and her right side is toren now. That 2 years ago she had ripped she left side, when getting on the bed. Now everything is so much worse. The surgery for the left side will be over $7,000 and to reheal her right side. She will need Prolo therapy which cost $580 for each session. They want her to do 6 to 8 sessions. We have looked into pet insurance, but with it being a pre-existing injury. No one will help cover it or help at all. Even if they do it, we would have to wait a year for it to come into affect. She is in so much pain, we don't want to wait that long. We want her to get better as fast as possible. We aren't asking for a lot just any little bit you can spare. We know it hard for everyone right now. I hate asking for the help, but Zoey really needs it right now. So I'm putting my pride aside for our dog. So that she can hopfully get the help she needs and fast.
