My name is Ron Hassell and I am Vicky's husband. You heard from her in the video she made but I wanted to share a few things as well.

When Vicky first got the diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer in 2013, we were devastated and shocked. She had done everything she was told to do but the cancer had come back. Not in her breasts, but in her lungs and her ovaries. I remember sitting on our back porch a couple of days after the diagnosis and she looked at me with tears in her eyes and said "I just want to see my grandchildren grow up." My heart ached for her and what she was going through. It still does.

Over the next ten years, I watched as my wife underwent treatment from a variety of medications, some of which made her extremely ill and led to hospitalization. Others which made her so sick and nauseous that she could not even leave the house for fear of having an "accident."

I've also watched as she not only went through the surgeries she mentioned, but had infusions every three to four weeks, countless scans and poking and prodding by numerous people.. Through it all, she has battled so hard.

But now, as she told you, the options are limited to the chemotherapy agents. These will not cure her but will definitely reduce her quality of life and eventually destroy her immune system leading to death.

We have been extremely blessed that her prayer to see her grandchildren grow up was heard and answered. When we started this journey, we had a two year old granddaughter, Now we have five grandchildren from ages 12 to 4 months.

Our prayer now is that Vicky will be able to see her grandchildren graduate from high school. We believe that with your prayers, financial support and help in sharing this, that God will answer that prayer.

Thank you for taking the time to hear about our journey, God bless all of you.

Greetings Everyone,

We wanted to update you all on our trip. Due to a miscommunication, it turns out that Vicky was not a candidate for the treatment plan (low dose radiation combined with low dose chemo) we thought she was going to have. The reason being there are too many lesions/nodules (12) in her lungs and the amount of radiation needed would do more harm than good.

Vicky got a new set of scans and we then met with Dr, Munos, who was head of oncology. He recommended a treatment plan of Halaven combined with Nerlynx for four cycles. The goal is to eradicate the smaller lesions and shrink the larger ones at which point they would be ablated. We spoke with Vickys local oncologist and she said she could administer those medicines here and insurance will cover. We will return to Mexico to have the ablations done,

Thank you all again and we will keep you posted.

Ron and Vicky.
